NOBSAA DECLARES JANUARY 3 AS WORLD BLOCKCHAIN DAY, CALLS FOR GLOBAL GOVERNANCE UNITY

NOBSAA DECLARES JANUARY 3 AS WORLD BLOCKCHAIN DAY, CALLS FOR GLOBAL GOVERNANCE UNITY

In a historic move to unify the global blockchain ecosystem, the Network of Blockchain Solutions Advocates Association (NOBSAA) has formally declared January 3 of every year as World Blockchain Day. This proclamation, announced by NOBSAA Founder and President Kingsley Ugochukwu Ekwuruke, marks a pivotal moment in recognizing blockchain technology’s transformative potential and the need for coordinated global stewardship.

The date, January 3, holds profound significance for the blockchain community as the anniversary of the creation of Bitcoin’s genesis block in 2009—a milestone that laid the foundation for decentralized digital innovation. By commemorating this day, NOBSAA aims to celebrate blockchain’s achievements while galvanizing collective action to address its evolving challenges.

A CALL FOR UNIFIED GOVERNANCE
Alongside the World Blockchain Day declaration, NOBSAA has issued a groundbreaking invitation to blockchain associations, institutions, corporations, and stakeholders worldwide to establish the UNITED WORLD BLOCKCHAIN GOVERNING COUNCIL (UWBGC). This council seeks to harmonize efforts across borders and industries, ensuring that blockchain technology evolves responsibly and inclusively.

“Blockchain is not just a tool for financial innovation—it is a global movement that demands collaboration,” stated Ekwuruke. “By uniting under the UWBGC, we can create frameworks that empower innovation while safeguarding ethical standards, security, and interoperability.”

KEY OBJECTIVES OF THE UWBGC
1. UNIFIED GLOBAL GOVERNANCE: Develop standardized regulatory frameworks to foster trust and scalability.
2. INTERNATIONAL COLLABORATION: Facilitate cross-border knowledge-sharing, research partnerships, and policy alignment.
3. INNOVATION AND ADOPTION: Drive blockchain integration into sectors like finance, healthcare, supply chains, and governance.
4. ADVOCACY AND PROBLEM-SOLVING: Serve as a collective voice to address challenges such as cybersecurity, sustainability, and digital inclusion.

WHY WORLD BLOCKCHAIN DAY MATTERS
Ekwuruke emphasized that World Blockchain Day transcends celebration—it is a call to action. “This day reminds us that blockchain’s potential hinges on unity. From DeFi to DAOs, our technologies thrive on decentralization, but our governance must be cohesive to ensure long-term impact.”

The initiative has already garnered support from blockchain leaders, developers, and policymakers, with NOBSAA urging organizations to endorse the declaration and join the UWBGC’s formation.

JOIN THE MOVEMENT
NOBSAA invites all stakeholders to participate in the inaugural World Blockchain Day events, including virtual summits, hackathons, and educational workshops. “January 3 is more than a date—it is the dawn of a new era for global blockchain solidarity,” Ekwuruke concluded.
